# Share or export a Deep Research report

[Canonical page](https://portraitresearch.com/documentation/research/export-output/)

## Applicability

- **Task:** Share a Deep Research report with teammates or export a completed report
- **Access:** Portrait account; report access and source display rights apply
- **Audience:** Portrait users running Deep Research
- **Surfaces:** web; ios
- **Availability:** Production
- **Content type:** how-to
- **Last reviewed:** 2026-09-07

Use a completed Deep Research report's controls to download the **Portrait Review** as PDF, include its Appendix, or copy report content into another document. Report access and source display rights still apply. Export requires a rendered report; an in-progress or failed run without a report cannot be exported.

## Share inside Portrait

To give teammates read-only access to a report, follow [Share with teammates](https://portraitresearch.com/documentation/documents/sharing/#share-with-teammates). Sharing must be enabled for your organization, and the report must not be assigned to a Project.

See [Sharing](https://portraitresearch.com/documentation/documents/sharing/) for finding shared reports, independent copies, recipient permissions, and removing access.

## Export from the web app

1. Open the completed report in the web app.
2. In the report's PDF export control, choose **Portrait Review** or **Portrait Review + Appendix**.
3. To copy instead, choose **Copy report** from the report controls.

## Export from iOS

On supported mobile versions, open the completed report and its actions menu. Choose **Copy to clipboard** to copy the report, or **Export to PDF** and select **Portrait Review** or **Portrait Review + Appendix**. If these actions are absent in your installed version, open the report in the web app.

## Verify the exported result

Open the result outside Portrait and confirm the title, scope, selected report sections, tables, charts, citations, and page breaks. Recheck material figures and quotations against the source before sharing. Copying content does not guarantee that another editor will preserve its layout or source links.

## If export fails

- Retry from the original completed report rather than from a copied derivative.
- If the run is still active or its state is unavailable, use [Deep Research status and recovery](https://portraitresearch.com/documentation/research/research-status-and-recovery/) before trying to export again.
- If copying is incomplete, try PDF and inspect the result.
- Keep the Portrait report URL with the exported file when source traceability matters.
- Contact Portrait support with the report URL and export type. Do not send credentials or private source content.
