Building a Chart

The steps

  1. Open the editor from the left navigation.
  2. Choose a data type — Fundamentals, Valuation, Macro, or Revisions. A chart uses a single type, so every series you add shares it.

  1. Add a series. Pick the category and series, then bind it — a company for Fundamentals, Valuation, and Revisions; an index for an index valuation; nothing for Macro.
  2. Add more series as needed, and refine each one (see below).
  3. Title the chart, select a destination project, and Save to project.

Shaping each series

Once a series is on the chart, you can:

  • Transform it — Year-over-year change, Year-over-year % change, Sequential change, Sequential % change, Indexed to 100, or Invert.
  • Combine two series into a derived series with add, subtract, multiply, or divide.
  • Assign it to an axis — primary or secondary — and set each axis's label and min/max.
  • Set the chart type — line or bar.
  • Set the date range — year-to-date, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, or a custom number of days.

The chart type and date range sit together above the chart preview:

Managing saved charts

Saved charts appear as cards in their project. From there you can reopen a chart in the editor, and duplicate, move, or reorder charts across your projects. To save a variation without disturbing the original, use Save a new copy to project.
