Chart Templates

A template is a reusable chart layout with the company left as a parameter. Build the chart definition once — the series, transforms, axes, and chart type — and apply it to any company, so you do not rebuild the same view every time you pick up a new name.

Create and edit a template

  • Create a template from the editor in new-template mode. Define the layout the same way you build a chart, then save it.
  • Edit an existing template to update its title, description, and parameters.
  • Duplicate or delete your own templates from the library pane.

Use a template

Open a template from the library pane and the editor seeds a new chart from its layout. Choose the company you want, and Portrait fills in that company's data — producing an ordinary chart you can then save into a project like any other.
