Scheduled Briefs

Copy for agent

A brief is a monitor without a company list. Where a monitor watches named companies, a brief watches the market for topics or events wherever they appear — "CHIPS Act awards", "activist stakes in mid-cap industrials", "FDA approvals in obesity" — and delivers what it finds on a schedule.

Use a brief when the interesting thing is the development, not the ticker: you want to know when it happens, and you do not know in advance which company it will happen to.

Creating one

In the monitor builder, choose Monitor topics or events instead of Monitor specific companies. Then:

  1. Describe what Portrait should look for — one signal per line, in plain language.
  2. Choose sources to draw on.
  3. Choose a schedule: Morning, Evening, or both.
  4. Name the brief, optionally assign it to a project, and review before creating.

Everything on the review screen is still editable.

Where briefs arrive

A brief's updates land in your Inbox like any monitor's, and by email if alerts are on. Briefs and monitors sit in the same list, so you manage them the same way.
