My Library
Copy for agent
My Library (under Reference in the left navigation) is everything you bring to Portrait: files you upload, notes you write, prompt templates you re-run, and skills Easel can follow. What you keep here you only have to explain once — associate an item with companies and its context is available whenever you research those names, or mention any item directly in a prompt with @.
The page has two panes: an explorer on the left, grouped into three categories, and a reader on the right that opens whatever you select. On a narrow window the two collapse into one, with a breadcrumb back to the library.
Documents
Your files, notes, and the folders that hold them.
- Upload files — drag and drop onto the page, or use the + on the Documents category. You can bring in a whole folder at once (up to 50 files per drop; the folder structure is recreated for you). There is no fixed file-type restriction — PDFs, images, text and Markdown, CSVs, HTML, and Word/Excel files open in an inline preview, and other types are kept as downloads.
- New note — write directly in Portrait: a name, optional company associations, and rich-text content up to 48,000 characters. Notes reopen in the same editor whenever you want to update them.
- Folders — create, rename, move, and delete them, and drag items between them. Deleting a folder that still has content asks you to confirm first.
After an upload, Portrait prepares the file for its research features; a badge on the item shows that progress. Editing an upload changes its display name and company associations — the file content itself is never modified.
Prompt templates
Research briefs you want to run again, grouped into two buckets: Deep Research and Easel. Create one with the + on the category and it appears inline for naming, then opens in the reader where you can write the prompt and set its companies, coverage period, and sources. Portrait's own curated prompts are available in the composers too — see Select from Prompt Library.
Skills
Written procedures Easel follows on demand — "how I like an earnings call summarized," "the checklist I run on a new name." Write one as a note or upload a Markdown or text file, and Easel reads it when the work calls for it. Skills appear only on accounts with Easel. See Easel Skills.
Find an item
Filter by name at the top of the explorer narrows every category at once, keeping matching items visible under their folder or bucket.
Add notes by email
Add via email shows your library's inbox address with a button to copy it. Send or forward mail from your Portrait account address and the message body becomes a new note, with any attachments saved as uploads. Start the first line with a tag like [tickers:RTX.US,BA.US] to associate the new items with companies. Only mail from your account address is matched to your library, inline images are skipped (attach them as files instead), and items can take a minute to appear.
Your library across Portrait
- Press @ in any prompt composer to mention a note or upload, pointing the feature at that exact item.
- Company associations make an item's context available automatically when you research that company.
- Easel saves its finished deliverables — write-ups, charts, spreadsheets — into My Library as uploads you own. See Working With Your Library.
For reading and searching Portrait's own corpus of filings and transcripts, see Company Documents — a separate surface from your own library.
