The Companies directory shows two separate associations with a company. Your Research summarizes your company-linked work. The Project column shows Projects whose company set includes that company. Neither column is source evidence or a copy of the underlying work.
Find company-linked work
- In the web app, open Companies under Reference.
- Search for the company by name or ticker.
- In Your Research, select the summary of non-zero counts.
- Select the type of work you want to reopen.
Portrait opens the page for that type of work and applies a company filter where available, as shown below.
| Count | What the association means | What opens |
|---|---|---|
| Monitors | The Monitor tracks the company. | Monitors filtered to the company. |
| Deep Research | The report includes the company in its scope. | Deep Research with the company filter applied to the composer and saved reports. |
| Easel or Chats | A conversation is associated with the company. The label depends on the conversation surfaces available to your account. | Easel history filtered to the company where supported. A legacy Chats entry can instead open the unfiltered Chat list. |
| Charts | At least one chart series is bound to the company. | The company page. The Companies directory does not currently provide a company-filtered chart library; open Charts and confirm the series there. |
The counts are an index into your work, not a completeness statement. They do not indicate whether Portrait has a Company Primer, Case Study, relationship record, or source document for the company.
Verify the destination
Confirm that the destination shows the selected company filter when the table above says one is supported. Open one result and verify its company association. For a Chart, open its series configuration and confirm that the expected company is bound there.
Open a Project associated with the company
- Find the company in Companies.
- In Project, select a Project name.
- Use the Project's Research and Companies sections to inspect its scoped work and company set.
The company can belong to a Project even when Your Research says No research yet. Conversely, company-linked research can exist without a Project. Project membership does not imply that every research item associated with the company belongs to that Project. See Create a Project for how Project contents and Research instructions apply.
Interpret empty or missing states
- No research yet means Portrait found no counted company-linked work for the signed-in user. It does not describe Portrait-generated company research or source coverage.
- An empty Project cell means the company is not in one of your Projects; it does not mean the company is unsupported.
- A missing count can mean zero matching items or that the corresponding surface is unavailable to the account.
Recover missing work
Open the page for that type of work and check the selected company and Project, then confirm the signed-in account and organization. For Easel or legacy Chat, use the history available to your account. If Your Research shows a count but the filtered destination contains no matching item, refresh the Companies directory and destination once. If the mismatch remains, contact Portrait support with the company, count type, account or organization, and destination URL.
