Use Improve prompt to add structure and explicit instructions to a draft research question. The feature can clarify a request; it does not verify facts or guarantee that the generated report will be accurate or complete.
Improve the draft
- Enter a draft of at least 8 characters, excluding leading and trailing spaces, in the editable prompt field.
- Press Ctrl + I (⌘ I on macOS), or select the improve-prompt control.
- Compare the rewritten prompt with your original intent.
- Choose Accept suggestion to use it or Discard to keep the original draft. Edit any scope, assumption, source, period, or output requirement before running.
Review before running
Confirm that the prompt states:
- the companies or universe;
- the coverage period;
- the question or decision to address;
- the sources to use or exclude;
- the required comparisons and output structure;
- any assumptions that must be tested rather than accepted.
If the rewritten prompt introduces a fact you did not provide, remove it or restate it as a question to verify.
Verify the effect
The final prompt should be more specific without changing the intended research task. After the run, check whether the report addressed each material instruction and inspect the supporting evidence.
If the rewrite is unsuitable
Choose Discard while reviewing the suggestion to keep the original draft. If you have already accepted it, edit or replace the prompt yourself. Add one constraint at a time, then run Improve prompt again only if it remains useful.
If the control is unavailable, check the 8-character minimum and that the composer is editable. Wait for an in-progress rewrite to finish before requesting another one.
